Description
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to boundary error in VLC Media Player when processing QuickTime IMA Files. A remote unauthenticated attacker can cause buffer overflow by creating a specially crafted QuickTime IMA file that, when loaded by the victim, will trigger a buffer overflow in DecodeAdpcmImaQT() in 'modules/codec/adpcm.c' and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

Mitigation
The vendor plans to issue a fix (2.2.4, 3.0.0).
