Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in cookie parser within management we interface. A remote unauthenticated attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request containing a very long cookie, trigger buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in denial of service or complete compromise of the device.

Mitigation
This vulnerability is fixed in FortiOS firmware versions 4.1.11, 4.2.13, 4.3.9 and 5.0.
