Managed.com, a provider of managed web hosting solutions, was forced to take offline its entire web hosting infrastructure due to a ransomware attack, which took place on November 16, 2020.
“On Nov.16, the Managed.com environment was attacked by a coordinated ransomware campaign. To ensure the integrity of our customers’ data, the limited number of impacted sites were immediately taken offline. Upon further investigation and out of an abundance of caution, we took down our entire system to ensure further customer sites were not compromised,” reads a short statement posted on the company’s status update page.
Some Managed.com's customers reported that the impacted web hosting services included WordPress and DotNetNuke managed hosting solutions, email servers, DNS servers, RDP access points, FTP servers, and online databases.
Managed.com added that measures has been taken to “eliminate the threat and restore our customers to full capacity” and that it is working directly with law enforcement agencies to identify the threat actor behind the incident.
