Mossad reportedly behind Natanz atomic site blackout

Israel’s Mossad spy agency allegedly carried out a cyberattack on Iran’s Natanz nuclear facility, according to Israeli public broadcaster Kan.

Сiting unnamed intelligence sources, Kan’s report said the attack on Natanz was “an Israeli cyber-attack in which the Mossad was involved… [and] the damage to the Iranian facility is greater than reported” by Tehran.

Behrouz Kamalvandi, a spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran (AEOI) said that the “incident” at Natanz nuclear facility on Sunday was caused by a problem with the electrical distribution grid of the Natanz site, Iranian media reported. According to Kamalvandi, the incident caused no casualties or pollution.

Ali Akbar Salehi, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, described the incident as “nuclear terrorism” but did not provide further details on who Tehran held responsible. He added that Iran reserves the right to take action against the perpetrators.
