Microsoft stops providing services in Russia due to unlawful invasion of Ukraine

Microsoft has suspended all new sales of products and stopped providing services in Russia in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

"Like the rest of the world, we are horrified, angered, and saddened by the images and news coming from the war in Ukraine and condemn this unjustified, unprovoked and unlawful invasion by Russia. We are announcing today that we will suspend all new sales of Microsoft products and services in Russia," Microsoft President and Vice-Chair Brad Smith said.

Moreover, Redmond is cooperating with the governments of the USA, the European Union, and the United Kingdom, and suspends most of its business operations in Russia in accordance with governmental sanctions.

Microsoft has also been aiding Ukrainian IT officials to defend the country against Russian cyberattacks since the beginning of the war, Smith added. Redmond's specialists have acted against Russian positioning, destructive or disruptive measures against more than 20 Ukrainian government, IT, and financial sector organizations.

At the time of publication of the material, it remains unclear what Microsoft plans to do with its Russian office and its employees.

Cybersecurity Help’s statement on the critical situation in Ukraine

On February 24, people in many cities and towns across Ukraine woke up to the sounds of explosions and artillery fire, as the Russian Federation launched a full-scale invasion of the country. Such actions are unacceptable, the political ambitions of any man aren’t worthy of blood, tears, and destruction of millions of lives. We give our full support to the Ukrainian people in these hard times. No more war!
