The US military is hiring nation-state hackers both for offensive and defensive operations, according to an announcement in the official Twitter account of the US Army Chief of Cyber posted on August 27.
“Interested in becoming a nation state hacker? We will develop your skills in offensive and defensive cyber operations. Defend. Attack. Exploit,” the job vacancy posting reads.
According to the information on the US Army’s website, new recruits will gain the skills and training needed to defend the nation from the growing number of cybersecurity threats, as well as receive training in defensive and offensive systems protection to recognize adware, ransomware, and spyware aimed at key government facilities and financial centers.
Recruits will also gain the skills needed to locate international hacker networks, disrupt the schemes of domestic cybercriminals, and safeguard the communications ability of the US Army.
