Ukraine signed an agreement to join the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defense Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE), taking the next step to deepen international collaboration for efficient response to cyber threats, including those that come from Russia.
The Estonia-based CCDCOE is a NATO-accredited cyber knowledge hub, research institution, and training and exercise facility, which focuses on interdisciplinary applied research, as well as consultations, training and exercises in the field of cyber security
In March 2022, Ukraine was accepted to the CCDCOE as a contributing participant. Before it’s official, the new agreement must be be signed by all of CCDCOE’s members.
“We have been actively cooperating with the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defense Centre of Excellence for the last year. In November 2022, CCDCOE Director Mart Noorma and Head of International Relations Carolina Leis visited our Service to discuss our experience in countering russia’s cyber aggression, risks in cyberspace for other countries and many other issues. Besides, last year, Ukrainian delegation participated in a Steering Committee meeting of CCDCOE for the first time. I do hope that our cooperation will become tighter this year,” said Yurii Shchyhol, head of Ukraine’s State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection.
