The flag of Ukraine has been officially raised at the headquarters of the Joint Center for Advanced Technologies for NATO Cyber Defense in Tallinn, Estonia, marking official accession of Ukraine to the CCDCOE.
Three other states - Iceland, Ireland and Japan - have also become members. The ceremony coincided with the 15th anniversary of the CCDCOE.
The CCDCOE is a NATO-accredited cyber knowledge hub, research institution, and training and exercise facility, which focuses on interdisciplinary applied research, as well as consultations, training and exercises in the field of cyber security.
“We warmly welcome the new members, all of whom will add highly appreciated knowhow to the CCDCOE’s work. We are particularly glad to see Ukraine here with us – this offers a unique opportunity to simultaneously contribute to Ukraine’s defence in Russia’s brutal war and learn from the cyber battlefield to improve the cyber security of all members,” said Estonian Minister of Defence Hanno Pevkur.
In March 2022, Ukraine was accepted to the CCDCOE as a contributing participant and in January 2023 an agreement to join the CCDCOE was signed.
