Cosmetics maker Estée Lauder hit with a cyberattack

Global beauty company The Estée Lauder Companies said it has suffered a cyberattack, with hackers obtaining some data from its systems.

The company said in a short press release that after discovering the incident it took down some of its systems and promptly began an investigation to determine the nature and the scope of the affected data.

“The incident has caused, and is expected to continue to cause, disruption to parts of the Company’s business operations,” the company said.

Estée Lauder didn’t share information about the culprits behind the attack. It appears that the company has become yet another victim of ransomware actors, as both ALPHV (BlackCat) and Clop ransomware operators listed Estée Lauder on their data leak websites.
