Conor Brian Fitzpatrick, the owner of the notorious hacker forum BreachForums, has been sentenced to 20 years of supervised release.
The now 21-year-old New York state resident, who operated under the online pseudonym “Pompompurin,” was arrested in March 2023 and later pleaded guilty on three charges, including conspiracy to commit access device fraud, access device fraud – unauthorized solicitation, and possession of child sex abuse material. He was released on a $300,000 bond but was re-arrested after violating the terms of the pre-trial release.
Fitzpatrick's sentencing marks a significant departure from the initial recommendation made by the US government, which sought a 15-year prison term. Instead, he will be under supervised release for the next two decades.
During the initial two years of his release, Fitzpatrick will be subject to home arrest with a GPS locator and mandatory mental health treatment. Furthermore, to ensure public safety, he is prohibited from accessing the internet in the first year of his release. Probation officers will also install monitoring software on his computer to prevent any potential illicit activities.
