Google patches Chrome zero-day flaw

Google has released emergency security updates to address a zero-day vulnerability in its Chrome browser.

The zero-day flaw, tracked as CVE-2026-5281, is a use-after-free issue in the Dawn component in Google Chrome. It could be abused by a remote attacker for code execution by tricking a user into visiting a malicious web page.

Google didn’t disclose any additional details regarding the nature of exploitation, only confirming that it is being exploiting in the wild.

All in all, Chrome security updates fix over 20 vulnerabilities that can lead to remote code execution or data leak.
