Description

This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2011-0908)

The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to read and manipulate data.

Open redirect vulnerability in Vanilla Forums before 2.0.17.6 allows remote attackers to redirect users to arbitrary web sites and conduct phishing attacks via a URL in the Target parameter to an unspecified component, a different vulnerability than CVE-2011-0526.

2) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2011-0909)

Vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform XSS attacks.

The vulnerability is caused by an input validation error in Vanilla Forums before 2.0.17.6 when processing p parameter to an unspecified component, a different vulnerability than CVE-2011-0526. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in victim's browser in security context of vulnerable website.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.

3) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2011-0910)

The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to read and manipulate data.

The cookie implementation in Vanilla Forums before 2.0.17.6 makes it easier for remote attackers to spoof signed requests, and consequently obtain access to arbitrary user accounts, via HMAC timing attacks.
