Description

This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.

1) Permissions, Privileges, and Access Controls (CVE-ID: CVE-2011-1020)

CWE-ID: CWE-264 - Permissions, Privileges, and Access Controls

CVSSv4: 5.1 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to gain access to sensitive information.

The proc filesystem implementation in the Linux kernel 2.6.37 and earlier does not restrict access to the /proc directory tree of a process after this process performs an exec of a setuid program, which allows local users to obtain sensitive information or cause a denial of service via open, lseek, read, and write system calls.
