Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 security vulnerability.
1) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2011-2900)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.The weakness exists due to stack-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the put_dir() function when processing malicious requests. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP PUT request, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code with privileges of the current user.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability results in arbitrary code execution on the vulnerable system.
Note: the vulnerability was being actively exploited.
