Description
This security bulletin contains information about 8 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2010-5099)
The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to read and manipulate data.
The fileDenyPattern functionality in the PHP file inclusion protection API in TYPO3 4.2.x before 4.2.16, 4.3.x before 4.3.9, and 4.4.x before 4.4.5 does not properly filter file types, which allows remote attackers to bypass intended access restrictions and access arbitrary PHP files, as demonstrated using path traversal sequences with %00 null bytes and CVE-2010-3714 to read the TYPO3 encryption key from localconf.php.
2) Path traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2010-5102)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform directory traversal attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to input validation error when processing directory traversal sequences in mod/tools/em/class.em_unzip.php in the unzip library in TYPO3 4.2.x before 4.2.16, 4.3.x before 4.3.9, and 4.4.x before 4.4.5. A remote authenticated attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request and remote attackers to write arbitrary files via unspecified vectors.
3) SQL injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2010-5103)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary SQL queries in database.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted request to the affected application and execute arbitrary SQL commands within the application database.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to read, delete, modify data in database and gain complete control over the affected application.
4) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2010-5104)
The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to gain access to sensitive information.
The escapeStrForLike method in TYPO3 4.2.x before 4.2.16, 4.3.x before 4.3.9, and 4.4.x before 4.4.5 does not properly escape input when the MySQL database is set to sql_mode NO_BACKSLASH_ESCAPES, which allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information via wildcard characters in a LIKE query.
5) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2010-5097)
Vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform XSS attacks.
The vulnerability is caused by an input validation error in the click enlarge functionality in TYPO3 4.3.x before 4.3.9 and 4.4.x before 4.4.5 when the caching framework is enabled,. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in victim's browser in security context of vulnerable website.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
6) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2010-5098)
Vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform XSS attacks.
The vulnerability is caused by an input validation error in the FORM content object in TYPO3 4.2.x before 4.2.16, 4.3.x before 4.3.9, and 4.4.x before 4.4.5,. A remote authenticated attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in victim's browser in security context of vulnerable website.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
7) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2010-5100)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data when processing data passed via unspecified vectors. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
8) Path traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2010-5101)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform directory traversal attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to input validation error when processing directory traversal sequences in the TypoScript setup in TYPO3 4.2.x before 4.2.16, 4.3.x before 4.3.9, and 4.4.x before 4.4.5. A remote authenticated attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request and remote authenticated administrators to read arbitrary files via unspecified vectors related to the file inclusion functionality.
