Description
This security bulletin contains information about 4 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) SQL injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2012-2325)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary SQL queries in database.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted request to the affected application and execute arbitrary SQL commands within the application database.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to read, delete, modify data in database and gain complete control over the affected application.
2) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2012-2326)
Vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform XSS attacks.
The vulnerability is caused by an input validation error in the Admin Control Panel (ACP) in MyBB (aka MyBulletinBoard) before 1.6.7 when processing a malformed file name in an orphaned attachment. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in victim's browser in security context of vulnerable website.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
3) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2012-2327)
The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to gain access to sensitive information.
MyBB (aka MyBulletinBoard) before 1.6.7 allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information via a malformed forumread cookie, which reveals the installation path in an error message.
4) SQL injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2012-2324)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary SQL queries in database.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted request to the affected application and execute arbitrary SQL commands within the application database.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to read, delete, modify data in database and gain complete control over the affected application.
