1) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2012-3479)
CWE-ID: CWE-20 - Improper input validation
CVSSv4: 4.6 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:L/VI:L/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to read and manipulate data.
lisp/files.el in Emacs 23.2, 23.3, 23.4, and 24.1 automatically executes eval forms in local-variable sections when the enable-local-variables option is set to :safe, which allows user-assisted remote attackers to execute arbitrary Emacs Lisp code via a crafted file.
