- Critical
Description
This security bulletin contains information about 4 vulnerabilities.
1) SQL injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2013-4619)
CWE-ID: CWE-89 - Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an SQL Command ('SQL Injection')
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:L/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary SQL queries in database.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data passed via the (1) start or (2) end parameter to interface/reports/custom_report_range.php, or the (3) form_newid parameter to custom/chart_tracker.php. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted request to the affected application and execute arbitrary SQL commands within the application database.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to read, delete, modify data in database and gain complete control over the affected application.
2) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2013-4620)
CWE-ID: CWE-79 - Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting')
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:P/U:Clear
Vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform Cross-site scripting attacks.
An input validation error exists in interface/main/onotes/office_comments_full.php in OpenEMR 4.1.1 when processing note parameter. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in victim's browser in security context of vulnerable website.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
3) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2011-5161)
CWE-ID: CWE-20 - Improper input validation
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:L/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:P/U:Green
The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to read and manipulate data.
Unrestricted file upload vulnerability in the patient photograph functionality in OpenEMR 4 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary PHP code by uploading a file with an executable extension followed by a safe extension, then accessing it via a direct request to the patient directory under documents/. Per: http://cwe.mitre.org/data/definitions/434.html 'CWE-434: Unrestricted Upload of File with Dangerous Type'
4) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2011-5160)
CWE-ID: CWE-79 - Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting')
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:P/U:Clear
Vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform XSS attacks.
The vulnerability is caused by an input validation error in setup.php in OpenEMR 4 when processing site parameter.
