1) Path traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2012-4506)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform directory traversal attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to input validation error when processing directory traversal sequences in gitolite 3.x before 3.1, when wild card repositories and a pattern matching "./" are enabled,. A remote authenticated attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request and remote authenticated users to create arbitrary repositories and possibly perform other actions via a . (dot dot) in a repository name.
