EUVDB-ID: #VU5373
Risk: Critical
CVSSv4.0: 9.3 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:A/U:Red]
CVE-ID: CVE-2014-0160
CWE-ID:
CWE-200 - Exposure of sensitive information to an unauthorized actor
Exploit availability: Yes
DescriptionThe vulnerability allows a remote attacker to obtain potentially sensitive information on the target system.
The weakness exists due to an error in the TLS/DTLS heartbeat functionality. A remote attacker can read system memory contents without needing to log on to the server and retrieve private keys, passwords or other sensitive information
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability results in information disclosure on the vulnerable system.
Note: the vulnerability was being actively exploited.
Update the affected packages.
dev-libs/openssl to version: 1.0.1g
Gentoo Linux: All versions
dev-libs/openssl: All versions

EUVDB-ID: #VU77192
Risk: Low
CVSSv4.0: 0.5 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear]
CVE-ID: CVE-2014-0076
CWE-ID:
CWE-310 - Cryptographic Issues
Exploit availability: No
DescriptionThe vulnerability allows a local attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to montgomery ladder implementation in OpenSSL does not ensure that certain swap operations have a constant-time behavior. A local attacker can obtain ECDSA nonces via a FLUSH+RELOAD cache side-channel attack.
MitigationUpdate the affected packages.
