- Critical
Description
This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2013-4289)
The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code.
Multiple integer overflows in lib/openjp3d/jp3d.c in OpenJPEG before 1.5.2 allow remote attackers to have unspecified impact and vectors, which trigger a heap-based buffer overflow.
2) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2013-4290)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing unknown vectors to (1) lib/openjp3d/opj_jp3d_compress.c, (2) bin/jp3d/convert.c, or (3) lib/openjp3d/event.c. A remote unauthenticated attacker can trigger stack-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
