Description
This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2014-5273)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data when processing data passed via the (1) browse table page, related to js/sql.js; (2) ENUM editor page, related to js/functions.js; (3) monitor page, related to js/server_status_monitor.js; (4) query charts page, related to js/tbl_chart.js; or (5) table relations page, related to libraries/tbl_relation.lib.php. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
2) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2014-5274)
Vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform XSS attacks.
The vulnerability is caused by an input validation error in the view operations page in phpMyAdmin 4.1.x before 4.1.14.3 and 4.2.x before 4.2.7.1. A remote authenticated attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in victim's browser in security context of vulnerable website.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
