Description
This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2011-4516)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in Heap-based buffer overflow in the jpc_cox_getcompparms function in libjasper/jpc/jpc_cs.c in JasPer 1.900.1. A remote attacker can use a crafted numrlvls value in a coding style default to trigger heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
2) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2011-4517)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in The jpc_crg_getparms function in libjasper/jpc/jpc_cs.c in JasPer 1.900.1 uses an incorrect data type during a certain size calculation, which. A remote attacker can use a crafted component registration to trigger heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
3) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2014-9029)
The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to read and manipulate data.
Multiple off-by-one errors in the (1) jpc_dec_cp_setfromcox and (2) jpc_dec_cp_setfromrgn functions in jpc/jpc_dec.c in JasPer 1.900.1 and earlier allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted jp2 file, which triggers a heap-based buffer overflow.
