Description
This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2014-5353)
The vulnerability allows remote authenticated users to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input. A remote attacker can cause a denial of service (daemon crash) via a successful LDAP query with no results, as demonstrated by using an incorrect object type for a password policy.
2) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2014-5355)
The vulnerability allows remote attackers to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input. A remote attacker can (1) cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference) via a zero-byte version string or (2) cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds read) by omitting the '' character, related to appl/user_user/server.c and lib/krb5/krb/recvauth.c.
