Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause DoS condition or execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The weakness exists due to integer overflow in the make_filter_table function in pixops/pixops.c in gdk-pixbuf. A remote attacker can submit specially crafted bitmap dimensions that are mishandled during scaling, trigger heap-based buffer overflow and cause the service to crash or execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.

Mitigation

Update the affected package gdk-pixbuf2.
