Description
This security bulletin contains information about 4 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2015-5225)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the hypervisor.
Buffer overflow in the vnc_refresh_server_surface function in the VNC display driver in QEMU before 2.4.0.1 allows guest users to cause a denial of service (heap memory corruption and process crash) or possibly execute arbitrary code on the host via unspecified vectors, related to refreshing the server display surface.2) Infinite loop (CVE-ID: CVE-2015-6815)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to infinite loop within the process_tx_desc() function in hw/net/e1000.c in QEMU. A remote attacker can consume all available system resources and cause denial of service conditions.
3) Infinite loop (CVE-ID: CVE-2015-5278)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to infinite loop within the ne2000_receive() function in hw/net/ne2000.c in QEMU. A remote attacker can consume all available system resources and cause denial of service conditions.
4) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2015-5279)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in the ne2000_receive function in hw/net/ne2000.c in QEMU before 2.4.0.1. A remote attacker can use vectors related to receiving packets. to trigger heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
