Description
This security bulletin contains information about 4 vulnerabilities.
1) Information exposure (CVE-ID: CVE-2013-4299)
CWE-ID: CWE-200 - Exposure of sensitive information to an unauthorized actor
CVSSv4: 5.3 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:L/VI:L/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote user to read and manipulate data.
The vulnerability exists due to information exposure error within the area_location(), read_exceptions() and persistent_prepare_exception() functions in drivers/md/dm-snap-persistent.c. A remote user can read and manipulate data.
2) Cryptographic issues (CVE-ID: CVE-2013-4350)
CWE-ID: CWE-310 - Cryptographic Issues
CVSSv4: 6.9 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to gain access to sensitive information.
The IPv6 SCTP implementation in net/sctp/ipv6.c in the Linux kernel through 3.11.1 uses data structures and function calls that do not trigger an intended configuration of IPsec encryption, which allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information by sniffing the network.
3) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2013-4387)
CWE-ID: CWE-119 - Memory corruption
CVSSv4: 7.1 [CVSS:4.0/AV:A/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
net/ipv6/ip6_output.c in the Linux kernel through 3.11.4 does not properly determine the need for UDP Fragmentation Offload (UFO) processing of small packets after the UFO queueing of a large packet, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory corruption and system crash) or possibly have unspecified other impact via network traffic that triggers a large response packet.
4) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2013-6431)
CWE-ID: CWE-476 - NULL Pointer Dereference
CVSSv4: 6.9 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference error in net/ipv6/ip6_fib.c in the Linux kernel before 3.11.5 does not properly implement error-code encoding, which allows local users to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and system crash) by leveraging the CAP_NET_ADMIN capability for an IPv6 SIOCADDRT ioctl call. A remote attacker can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
