1) Improper input validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2016-2548)

The vulnerability allows a local non-authenticated attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation error within the snd_timer_check_master(), snd_timer_close(), snd_timer_start_slave() and _snd_timer_stop() functions in sound/core/timer.c. A local non-authenticated attacker can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
