This security bulletin contains information about 4 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2013-4120)

The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

Katello has a Denial of Service vulnerability in API OAuth authentication


2) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2013-0283)

The vulnerability allows a remote authenticated user to read and manipulate data.

Katello: Username in Notification page has cross site scripting


3) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2013-4201)

The vulnerability allows a remote authenticated user to manipulate data.

Katello allows remote authenticated users to call the "system remove_deletion" CLI command via vectors related to "remove system" permissions.


4) SQL injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2016-3072)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary SQL queries in database.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data passed via the (1) sort_by or (2) sort_order parameter. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted request to the affected application and execute arbitrary SQL commands within the application database.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to read, delete, modify data in database and gain complete control over the affected application.
