1) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-5005)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to boundary error when handling specially crafted LC_UNIXTHREAD.cmdsize field in a Mach-O file during custom security scan. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted file, trick the victim into scanning it with vulnerable antivirus version, cause stack-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on vulnerable system with local system account.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability results in compromise of vulnerable system.
