Description
This security bulletin contains information about 7 vulnerabilities.
1) Code Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-16783)
The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code.
In CMS Made Simple 2.1.6, there is Server-Side Template Injection via the cntnt01detailtemplate parameter.
2) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-9668)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data when processing data passed via the description parameter in an addgroup action. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
3) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-7255)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.
The vulnerability exists in "the CMS Made Simple (CMSMS) 2.1.6 "Content-->News-->Add Article" feature" due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data passed via the m1_title parameter. Someone must login to conduct the attack.
4) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-7256)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.
The vulnerability exists in "the CMS Made Simple (CMSMS) 2.1.6 "Content-->News-->Add Article" feature" due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data passed via the m1_summary parameter. Someone must login to conduct the attack.
5) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-7257)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.
The vulnerability exists in "the CMS Made Simple (CMSMS) 2.1.6 "Content-->News-->Add Article" feature" due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data passed via the m1_content parameter. Someone must login to conduct the attack.
6) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-6555)
Vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform Cross-site scripting attacks.
An input validation error exists in /admin/moduleinterface.php in CMS Made Simple 2.1.6. A remote authenticated attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in victim's browser in security context of vulnerable website.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
7) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-6556)
Vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform Cross-site scripting attacks.
An input validation error exists in CMS Made Simple (CMSMS) 2.1.6. A remote authenticated attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in victim's browser in security context of vulnerable website.
