1) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-9432)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.The weakness exists in the DatabaseName::read function in lib/StarWriterStruct.cxx due to out-of-bounds write. A remote attacker can trigger stack-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may result in system compromise.
