Description
This security bulletin contains information about 3 vulnerabilities.
1) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2016-10244)
CWE-ID: CWE-119 - Memory corruption
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause DoS condition on the target system.
The weakness exists in the The parse_charstrings function in type1/t1load.c due to a boundary error when it does not ensure that a font contains a glyph name. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted file, trigger buffer overflow and cause the service to crash.
2) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-8105)
CWE-ID: CWE-122 - Heap-based Buffer Overflow
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Amber
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The weakness exists in the t1_decoder_parse_charstrings function due to heap-based buffer overflow. A remote attacker can trigger out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code.
3) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-8287)
CWE-ID: CWE-122 - Heap-based Buffer Overflow
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Amber
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The weakness exists in the t1_builder_close_contour function due to heap-based buffer overflow. A remote attacker can trigger out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code.
