Description
This security bulletin contains information about 2 vulnerabilities.
1) Cross-site request forgery (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-6086)
CWE-ID: CWE-352 - Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF)
CVSSv4: 8.6 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site request forgery attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of the HTTP request origin. A remote attacker can trick the victim to visit a specially crafted web page and <vimbadmin directory>/application/controllers/AliasController.
2) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-5870)
CWE-ID: CWE-79 - Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting')
CVSSv4: 5.1 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:P/VC:N/VI:N/VA:N/SC:L/SI:L/SA:N]
Vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform Cross-site scripting attacks.
An input validation error exists in ViMbAdmin 3.0.15 when processing the (1) domain or (2) transport parameter to domain/add; the (3) name parameter to mailbox/add/did/. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in victim's browser in security context of vulnerable website.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
