Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-7214)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to obtain potentially sensitive information on the target system.

The weakness exists due to an error in exception_wrapper.py. A remote attacker can cause an ERROR level logs and reveal legacy notification exception contexts that may include sensitive information such as account passwords and authorization tokens.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability results in information disclosure.

2) Cross-site scripting (XSS) (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-7400)

The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote authenticated administrators to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

The vulnerability is caused by incorrect filtration of input data passed via a crafted federation mapping. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in victim’s browser in security context of vulnerable website.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
