Security Advisory

1) SQL injection

Risk: High

CVSSv3.1: 8.1 [AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H/E:U/RL:U/RC:C] [PCI]

CVE-ID: CVE-2017-1000031

CWE-ID: CWE-89 - Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an SQL Command ('SQL Injection')

Exploit availability: No

Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary SQL queries in database.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data passed via the graph_template_input_id and graph_template_id parameters. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted request to the affected application and execute arbitrary SQL commands within the application database.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to read, delete, modify data in database and gain complete control over the affected application.

Mitigation

Cybersecurity Help is currently unaware of any official solution to address this vulnerability.

Is there known malware, which exploits this vulnerability?

No. We are not aware of malware exploiting this vulnerability.

2) Cross-site scripting

Risk: Low

CVSSv3.1: 5.6 [AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N/E:U/RL:U/RC:C] [PCI]

CVE-ID: CVE-2017-1000032

CWE-ID: CWE-79 - Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting')

Exploit availability: No

Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data when processing data passed via the parent_id parameter to tree.php and drp_action parameter to data_sources.php. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.

Mitigation

Cybersecurity Help is currently unaware of any official solution to address this vulnerability.
