Description

This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-16784)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data when processing data passed via the cntnt01detailtemplate parameter. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.


2) Arbitrary file upload (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-11404)

The vulnerability allows a remote privileged user to manipulate data.

In CMS Made Simple (CMSMS) 2.2.2, remote authenticated administrators can upload a .php file via a FileManager action to admin/moduleinterface.php.


3) Arbitrary file upload (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-11405)

The vulnerability allows a remote privileged user to manipulate data.

In CMS Made Simple (CMSMS) 2.2.2, remote authenticated administrators can upload a .php file via a CMSContentManager action to admin/moduleinterface.php, followed by a FilePicker action to admin/moduleinterface.php in which type=image is changed to type=file.
