CVE-ID: CVE-2017-10971
CWE-ID:
CWE-121 - Stack-based buffer overflow
Exploit availability: No
DescriptionThe vulnerability allows a remote authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code.
The weakness exists due to stack-based buffer overflow in the endianness conversion of X Events. A remote attacker can trigger memory corruption and crash or execute code in the context of the X Server.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may result in system compromise.
Update the affected package xorg-server to version 1.19.3-3.

CVE-ID: CVE-2017-10972
CWE-ID:
CWE-200 - Exposure of sensitive information to an unauthorized actor
Exploit availability: No
DescriptionThe vulnerability allows a remote authenticated attacker to obtain potentially sensitive information.
The weakness exists due to handling of uninitialized data in endianness conversion in the XEvent. A remote attacker can access potentially privileged data from the X server.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability results in information disclosure.
Update the affected package xorg-server to version 1.19.3-3.
