This security bulletin contains information about 2 vulnerabilities.


1) SQL injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-3221)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause execute SQL commands on the target system.

The weakness exists in a login form due to improper validation of user-supplied input. A remote attacker can use specially crafted requests to attempt log into the AmosConnect 8 service and retrieve credentials from the POST responses.

2) Privilege escalation (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-3222)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain elevated privileges on the target system.

The weakness exists due to use of hard-coded credentials. A remote attacker can use a backdoor account to log into AmosConnect server, abuse AmosConnect Task Manager and execute arbitrary commands with SYSTEM privileges.
