This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Inclusion of Sensitive Information in Log Files (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-16946)

The vulnerability allows a remote privileged user to gain access to sensitive information.

The admin_edit function in app/Controller/UsersController.php in MISP 2.4.82 mishandles the enable_password field, which allows admins to discover a hashed password by reading the audit log.


2) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-16802)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data when processing data passed via a crafted organisation name that is manually added. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
