Description

This security bulletin contains information about 3 vulnerabilities.

1) Denial of service (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-16719)

CWE-ID: CWE-74 - Improper Neutralization of Special Elements in Output Used by a Downstream Component ('Injection')

CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause DoS condition on the target system.

The weakness exists due to improper neutralization of special elements in output used by a downstream component. A remote attacker can inject specially crafted packets that and disrupt the availability of the device.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability results in denial of service.

2) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-16715)

CWE-ID: CWE-200 - Exposure of sensitive information to an unauthorized actor

CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to obtain potentially sensitive information on the target system.

The weakness exists due to a flaw in the handling of Ethernet frame padding. A remote attacker can disclose arbitrary data.

3) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-14028)

CWE-ID: CWE-400 - Resource exhaustion

CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause DoS condition on the target system.

The weakness exists due to memory resources exhaustion.A remote attacker can send a large amount of TCP SYN packets and disrupt the availability of the device.
