CVSSv4.0: 5.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Green]
CVE-ID: CVE-2017-17858
CWE-ID:
CWE-122 - Heap-based Buffer Overflow
Exploit availability: No
DescriptionThe vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in Heap-based buffer overflow in the ensure_solid_xref function in pdf/pdf-xref.c in Artifex MuPDF 1.12.0. A remote attacker can use a crafted PDF file to trigger heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
MitigationInstall updates from vendor's repository.

Risk: Low
CVSSv4.0: 1 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear]
CVE-ID: CVE-2018-5686
CWE-ID:
CWE-835 - Loop with Unreachable Exit Condition ('Infinite Loop')
Exploit availability: No
DescriptionThe vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause DoS condition on the traget system.
The weakness exists in the pdf_parse_array function in pdf/pdf-parse.c due to infinite loop because EOF is not considered. A remote attacker can trick the victim into opening a specially crafted pdf file and cause the service to crash.
