The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause DoS condition on the target system.

The weakness exists due to a NULL pointer dereference when an "empty" nick has been observed. A remote attacker can use a broken ircd or control over the ircde and cause the service to crash.

2) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-7051)
