Description
This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8948)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data when processing data passed via a malicious MISP module. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
2) Exposed dangerous method or function (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8949)
The vulnerability allows a remote authenticated user to manipulate data.
An issue was discovered in app/Model/Attribute.php in MISP before 2.4.89. There is a critical API integrity bug, potentially allowing users to delete attributes of other events. A crafted edit for an event (without attribute UUIDs but attribute IDs set) could overwrite an existing attribute.
