Description
This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Heap-based buffer over-read (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-14731)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause DoS condition on the target system.
The weakness exists in ofx_proc_file in ofx_preproc.cpp due to a boundary error. A remote attacker can trick the victim into opening a specially crafted file, as demonstrated by an ofxdump call, trigger heap-based buffer over-read and cause the service to crash.
2) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-2816)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system. The weakness exists in the tag parsing functionality due to out-of-bounds write when handling malicious input. A remote attacker can trick the victim into opening a specially crafted OFX file, trigger stack-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code with privileges of the current user.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may result in system compromise.
3) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-2920)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system. The weakness exists in the .svg parsing functionality of Computerinsel PhotoLine due to boundary error. A remote attacker can submit a malicious SVG file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code with privileges of the current user.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may result in system compromise.
