Description

This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.

1) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-10114)

The vulnerability allows a remote unauthenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The weakness exists in the ppm_load_read_header function as defined in the operations/external/ppm-load.c source code file due to improper restrictions of memory allocation. A remote attacker can trick the victim into opening a specially crafted PPM file, trigger out-of-bounds write in the gegl_buffer_iterate_read_simplefunction in the buffer/gegl-buffer-access.c source code file and execute arbitrary code.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may result in system compromise.
