Risk: Low
CVSSv4.0: 1 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear]
CVE-ID: CVE-2018-5686
CWE-ID:
CWE-835 - Loop with Unreachable Exit Condition ('Infinite Loop')
Exploit availability: No
DescriptionThe vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause DoS condition on the traget system.
The weakness exists in the pdf_parse_array function in pdf/pdf-parse.c due to infinite loop because EOF is not considered. A remote attacker can trick the victim into opening a specially crafted pdf file and cause the service to crash.
Update the affected package libmupdf to version 1.13.0-1.
Vulnerable software versionsArch Linux: All versions

CWE-ID:
CWE-122 - Heap-based Buffer Overflow
Exploit availability: No
DescriptionThe vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause DoS condition on the traget system.
The weakness exists in the do_pdf_save_document function in the pdf/pdf-write.c file due to heap-based buffer overflow. A remote attacker can trick the victim into opening a specially crafted pdf file, trigger memory corruption and cause the service to crash.
Update the affected package libmupdf to version 1.13.0-1.

CWE-ID:
CWE-119 - Memory corruption
Exploit availability: No
DescriptionThe vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause DoS condition on the traget system.
The weakness exists the pdf_read_new_xref function in pdf/pdf-xref.c due to segmentation violation. A remote attacker can trick the victim into opening a specially crafted pdf file, trigger memory corruption and cause the service to crash.

CWE-ID:
CWE-20 - Improper input validation
Exploit availability: No
DescriptionThe vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause DoS condition on the target system.
The weakness exists in th pdf_load_obj_stm in pdf/pdf-xref.c due to it can reference the object stream recursively and therefore run out of error stack. A remote attacker can submit a specially crafted PDF document cause the service to crash.
Update the affected package libmupdf to version 1.13.0-1.
