Description
This security bulletin contains information about 6 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8242)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to boundary error when the scripting engine handles objects in memory in Internet Explorer. A remote unauthenticated attacker can trick the victim into visiting a specially crafted website, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
2) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8296)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to boundary error when the scripting engine handles objects in memory in Internet Explorer. A remote unauthenticated attacker can trick the victim into visiting a specially crafted website, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
3) Security restrictions bypass (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-0949)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass security restrictions on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to improper handling of requests involving UNC resources by Microsoft Internet Explorer. A remote attacker can trick the victim into visiting a specially crafted website, bypass security restrictions and force the browser to load data that would otherwise be restricted.
4) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8287)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to boundary error when the scripting engine handles objects in memory in Microsoft browsers. A remote unauthenticated attacker can trick the victim into visiting a specially crafted website, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
5) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8288)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to boundary error when the scripting engine handles objects in memory in Microsoft browsers. A remote unauthenticated attacker can trick the victim into visiting a specially crafted website, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
6) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8291)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to boundary error when the scripting engine handles objects in memory in Microsoft browsers. A remote unauthenticated attacker can trick the victim into visiting a specially crafted website, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
