Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8302)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to boundary error when processing email messages within Microsoft Exchange server. A remote unauthenticated attacker can send a specially crafted email, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.


2) Improper access control (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8374)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to change profile data of other Exchange users.

The vulnerability exists due to an error when processing data profiles. a remote authenticated attacker can change profile data of another Exchange user.
