Description
This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-16543)
The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code.
In Artifex Ghostscript before 9.24, gssetresolution and gsgetresolution allow attackers to have an unspecified impact.
2) Improper input validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-16510)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause DoS condition or execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to incorrect exec stack handling in the CS and SC PDF operators. A remote unauthenticated attacker can trick the victim into opening a specially crafted PDF file that submits malicious input and cause the affected software to crash or execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
